If a certain page on a site does not load for some reason or in case a link is not functioning, the visitor will see an error page with a generic message. The page shall have nothing in common with the rest of the Internet site, that could make the visitor leave the website. A possible solution in this case is a function offered by some web hosting companies - the ability to set up your own customized error pages which will have exactly the same design and style as your site and that can contain any text or images you want dependent upon the particular error. There are 4 standard errors which can occur and they involve the following so-called HTTP status codes - 400, when your Internet browser sends a bad request to the hosting server and it cannot be processed; 401, if you're supposed to log in to see a webpage, but you haven't done so yet; 403, if you don't have a permission to see a certain page; and 404, in case a link which you have clicked leads to a file which does not exist. In any of these cases, website visitors will be able to see your custom made content rather than a generic error page.
